Technological innovation breaks the deadlock of "homogenization": Differentiation of metal PVC crafts
Author:
In recent years, the handicraft market has suffered from severe homogenization, with many companies falling into the quagmire of "price wars." However, metal PVC handicraft enterprises have carved out a path of differentiation through continuous technological innovation. Among them, the breakthrough of the "3D stereoscopic relief process" can be regarded as an industry milestone.
Traditional metal PVC handicrafts mainly use plane printing for patterns, lacking a sense of layering. To enhance the artistic expressiveness of the products, the technical team spent 18 months tackling the problem, combining metal etching and PVC three-dimensional injection molding technology to develop the "3D stereoscopic relief process." This process can create three-dimensional textures of 0.5-3 mm on the product surface. Whether it is the mottled texture of antique copper or the modern minimalist geometric lines, they can be accurately reproduced. The "Silk Road Civilization" series of ornaments launched last year were created using this process. The metal lines outline the winding Silk Road, and the gradient colors of the PVC reproduce the magnificence of the desert sunset. Upon its launch, it won the "Annual Craft Innovation Award".
In addition to the visual upgrade, technological innovation is also reflected in the "functional expansion." In response to the problem of outdoor handicrafts being easily eroded by wind and rain, the company has developed a "double-layer anti-corrosion process": plating a 5-micrometer-thick titanium alloy film on the metal surface and adding anti-ultraviolet agents to the PVC material, increasing the weather resistance of the product to 3 times that of ordinary handicrafts. This technology is not only used in courtyard decoration but also extended to tourism projects. In the landscape features of a certain 5A-level scenic area, metal PVC sculptures have withstood 3 years of wind and rain and still maintain their original color and shape, serving as a vivid footnote to their "durability".
